Mpumalanga police arrested a man who shot his son while cleaning an unlicensed firearm.

Mpumalanga police have arrested a man for allegedly shooting his son while cleaning an unlicenced firearm in December. 

Police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the incident happened in the Masoyi community on 15 December. 

Mohlala added the man faced charges of attempted murder and possession of an unlicenced firearm with ammunition after shooting his son in the leg.
