Mbongeni Ngema granted special official funeral

JOHANNESBURG – Legendary playwright, composer and director,Mbongeni Ngema will be given with a special provincial official funeral category 2.

KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube has thanked President Cyril Ramaphosa for granting Ngema this honour.

The category is reserved for distinguished persons specifically designated by the President.

Dube-Ncube says Ngema was a true South African icon who used the creative arts to fight for the freedom the country is enjoying today.

Ngema was killed in a car crash, last week.

A memorial service will take place on Wednesday and his funeral will be held on Friday.
