CES 2024 kicks off on Tuesday next week and Samsung will be showing off its new OLED monitors at the trade show (among other gadgets, of course). The new models include the ultra wide curved Odyssey OLED G9 and for the first time in the line-up, flat OLED monitors dubbed the G8 and G6.

Starting with the big one, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD) measures a whopping 49”. It has 5,120 x 1,440px resolution with a 32:9 aspect ratio, so it’s like two 16:9 displays side by side (and with no bezel in the middle).

The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) is a 32” 4K OLED monitor – with a flat panel, which is great for those that don’t like curvy displays be they on their phone or on their desk. This one sticks to a standard 16:9 aspect ratio and has 3,840 x 2,160px resolution.

The G9 and G8 have 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time (gray to gray). They are also Smart TVs (with Tizen) and support the Samsung Gaming Hub, so you can use game streaming services with no PC or console attached.

They are also Samsung SmartThings Hubs and can control your smart home devices using the Matter and Home Connectivity Alliance protocols. These two also support the new Multi Control feature that let’s you easily copy and paste text and images between Samsung devices connected to the monitor.

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD) is a 27” flat OLED monitor with QHD resolution this time (2,560 x 1,440, 16:9). This one runs at a higher 360Hz refresh rate (but has the same 0.03ms GTG response time).

All three monitors have a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for variable refresh rate gaming.

They have rich connectivity too with two HDMI 2.1 ports and a built-in USB hub. There is a DisplayPort 1.4 input, so you can connect a compatible laptop (and even phone or tablet) with a single USB-C cable for power, video and data.

The Odyssey OLED monitors come with height adjustable stands with tilt, swivel and pivot control points. They also have Core Lightning+, i.e. RGB lighting on the back of the monitor that provides ambiance.

The Samsung Odyssey G9, G8 and G6 will be demoed at CES next week and the company should reveal launch details (date and pricing) for the trio too.
