A former police officer and his stepson went toe-to-toe with would-be Facebook Marketplace robbers and, in the process, one of the attackers was killed.

The victim, who spoke to News24 on condition of anonymity, said they were lured into a trap in March when they sold a television via Facebook Marketplace.

The former cop told News24 that after his stepson’s fiancée advertised the TV for sale, a potential buyer contacted her and asked if she could deliver it to an address in Winterveld.
