Vrabel’s Titans fell to 5-11 with Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans, which was their third consecutive defeat. He didn’t exactly hold back during a press conference where he said losing “f–king sucks.”

Vrabel was a three-time Super Bowl champion during his time as a player for the New England Patriots, so he is surely accustomed to winning at a high level. He also finished with a winning record in each of his first four seasons as the head coach of the Titans, including when he went 11-5 in 2020 and 12-5 in 2021.

Yet the Titans went 7-10 last season and are simply playing out the string on a 5-11 campaign.

Will Levis, Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis have all played quarterback this season, while Derrick Henry is averaging just 3.9 yards per carry. That would be the star running back’s lowest mark of his career.

Tennessee has the opportunity to at least play spoiler when it faces the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18. Jacksonville can clinch an AFC South crown with a win.

Still, simply playing spoiler is not what Vrabel wants for his team.
