Steve Komphela has declared how he intends to win the PSL title this season. Komphela is known for his oratory skills, he is never shy to speak.
Komphela wants his team to continue playing with the same commitment they displayed in the midweek league win over Cape Town City.
The Glamour Boys gave a fine performance against a City side who had not lost in five matches.
“All the teams have just played three games. There is still a lot of football to be played,” said Komphela in his post-match interview.
“We had energy, commitment and clarity in everything we did today. If we can carry on like this, God willing, we will celebrate at the end of the season,” said Komphela.
Bidvest Wits will visit FNB Stadium tomorrow night to play Chiefs and Komphela will hope for more of the same.
Wits have got their Premiership title defence off to a poor start, picking up just one point out of a possible nine and will be looking to turn things around.
Komphela also acknowledged the supporters’ frustrations with the team’s dismal start – they were also knocked out in the first round of the MTN8 – and said he understood where their calls for changes in the team came from.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. This is a big club. They (fans) don’t get mad with us because of hatred, it is purely because of the love they have for this club,” he said.
