Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has threatened to “head-butt” club legend Itumeleng Khune if he steps out of line in a stark warning over his expected return to the club.
Khune has been sideline for some time now and Komphela has warned him that other goalkeepers Brylon Petersen Nhlanhla Khuzwayo Bruce Bvuma will not allow him to just walk back into the team.
Komphela is believed to be a strong disciplinarian and insists he will come down hard on Khune if he steps out of line because of his legendary status at the club.
“I said to him, ‘I will head-butt him,” Komphela said. “I think it was good, we had a long chat. He knows very well how we are, what we expect from him and for us it’s so important, not only him, every player, how they behave here in the squad.
“We need to keep the dynamic we have created. I trust him, I am confident that he can help the team to achieve the things we want.
”I know he is a club legend, i need to push him to get the best out of him, so i don’t expect him to walk back into the team for old times sake,” said Komphela.
