Steve Komphela got his first win of the season to calm the pressure on him. Apart from the three points Chiefs got tonight, winning away from home to a high flying Cape Town City side is something to hope on.

Goals from Siphiwe Tshabalala and Wiseman Meyiwa secured a 2-0 win over Cape Town City.

Both sides showed their intent to play attacking football. The tempo was good all through the 90 minutes.

Teko Modise was forced off with an injury in the 17th minute. He was replaced by Sibusiso Masina.

Chiefs went agonisingly close in the 34th minute as Bongelethu Jayiya rattled the upright from close range.

The sides went into break goalless but the second half was full of highlights.

In the 48 minute, Siphiwe Tshabalala showed great composure to fire into the bottom corner from 12-yards out. This shows how much the Amakhosi has missed one of their star players due to injuries.

Itumeleng Khune then came to Chiefs’ rescue in the 57th minute as produced a fine save to deny Masina from close range.

Khune produced a double save to deny Majoro twice after 67 minutes.

Judas Moseamedi was introduced for the final 20 minutes with the striker replacing Lyle Lakay.

Chiefs sealed the win in the 81st minute as 17-year-old Wiseman Meyiwa broke into the box and calmly slotted into the bottom corner.
