Orlando Pirates have been struggling in recent times to comfortably win games but if tonight’s performance and result will be consistent, the Soweto giants will bounce back to its past glory days.
Bernard Morrison did enough to seal all three points for Orlando Pirates as they beat Ajax Cape Town 1-0 at Orlando Stadium.
Bernard Morrison is a Ghanaian professional footballer. The forwards first half goal, did the job for the Buccaneers.
The home side knocked the ball around, looking to break the Ajax Cape Town defence.

A well-worked long throw-in allowed Mpho Makola to flick the ball from the near to the far post and found Bernard Morrison who volleyed the Buccaneers into an early 1-0 lead.

His goal came in the 9th minute of the game after a good and promising start from the home side.

Pirates troubled Ajax with set pieces and almost punished them again after Makola delivered a quality free kick into the box but Gabuza’s shot was blocked by Mario Booysen to deny Pirates a second goal.

Pirates managed to take their 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

Ajax had a late opportunity denied as a mostly inactive Wayne Sandilands was called to action through a strong header from Tashreeq Morris but the Pirates stopper did well to keep his side in the lead.

The Buccaneers repelled Ajax’s late attack to earn a well-deserved 1-0 victory.
