Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality must become the economic hub of the entire SADC region and the rest of Africa, newly elected Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanga said on Thursday.
He was speaking at the Market Open to launch Pioneers of Workplace Engagement at the Johannesburg Security Exchange (JSE).
Msimanga said under the new leadership of the Democratic Alliance (DA), Tshwane will be open for business and that he plans to bring about the necessary real change in Tshwane.
“I expect the employees of Tshwane to deliver and serve the people. Improving people’s lives is our cornerstone to proper governance.
There are new plans, new manifestos for Johannesburg, Tshwane and Nelson Mandela Bay Metro,” Msimanga added.
He told guests at the JSE that there are people who are struggling everyday and those are the people government needs to serve.
Msimanga opened up the markets by blowing a famous horn at the JSE, prior to addressing the guests who attended the function.
He is the First opposition mayor to govern the capital city since the African National Congress (ANC) was in charge since the dawn of the democratic elected government.
