ANC Youth League president Collen Maine is currently in hot soup after allegedly collecting the sum of R500,000 from a local mining company in a bid to stop their contract with Eskom from been scrapped.

According to a report by Timeslive. Just Coal which is owned by billionaire Joe Singh, claims to have been “forced” to pay “donations”  to many Gauteng politicians and senior Eskom executives including the ANCY president.

Trouble started for Collen when he failed to deliver on his promise after receiving the funds on behalf of the party. Though some members of the league have accused him of pocketing some part of the money, as according to some members said they were expecting R1m and not R500,000.

“He is doing business deals using the name of the organisation. We were told there would be a donation of R1-million but only half reached our coffers”.

The league’s President agreed to receiving the payment, stating that it was paid into the league’s account.

If things continue to go like this some members of the league are looking his removal as the President.
