The recent Xenophobic attacks in South Africa is making headlines Worldwide. Some South African are attacking foreigners, burning their businesses and homes. They are saying the foreigners must return home to their respective countries.
A self-proclaimed anti-illegal immigrants march leader has been arrested after several requests by South African Police Services (SAPS) members urging him to stop organizing groups or people.
Police have had their hands full since Friday as different groups of marchers threw rocks at police officers after an anti-illegal immigrants march in Pretoria turned violent.
More than 130 people have been arrested in clashes between the police, South Africans and immigrants.
Tensions in Sunnyside remain high.
Nigerians living in Sunnyside say they are not going anywhere despite numerous requests by locals to leave.
Locals are accusing Nigerians of selling drugs and running brothels in the city.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Ambassador in South Africa has urged his countrymen to refrain fromany violent activities.
Earlier, police formed a barrier line between locals and Somalis in Marabastad as the two groups wanted to engage in a confrontation.
Police are still patrolling the streets of Sunnyside and the Pretoria CBD.
There was a Protest in Pretoria Yesterday. Reports have it that a Nigerian was also killed in Germiston yesterday.
