President Jacob Zuma has officially appointed a new Public Protector to office, with Thuli Madonsela currently serving the last month of her term.
Thuli will be set to leave office in a fortnight.
In a statement, the Presidency says that Zuma has made Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s appointment a matter of fact, on the recommendation of the National Assembly.
Some believe that the advocate will have big shoes to fill. The outgoing Madonsela fulfilled her duties as a watchdog for the people, and South Africa will expect more of the same in future.
Hats off to Thuli Madonsela, she set the bar sky high.
