The presidential hopeful and former wife of the incumbent leader of South Africa was sorely chased away from the venue and embarrassed from laying wreath for the deceased to the bitter chagrin of her ANC factional supporters.

Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma chased away from Marikana

ANC presidential hopeful Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma is reported to have been chased away from #Marikana

She is in the North West on a campaign trail accompanied by supporters in about 20 minibus taxis.

Trade union #AMCU asked Dlamini-Zuma to leave the area.

She apparently did not tell the residents of Marikana that she would be in the area.

Marikana has been a no-go area for the ANC since the Marikana tragedy five years ago.

Dlamini-Zuma had planned to lay a wreath on the koppie where 34 miners were shot dead by police.  A handful of men in AMCU T-shirts chased Dlamini-Zuma and her supporters away.

One was heard saying people who were not there on the day of the massacre should not be allowed to be there now.
