A party counselor from the KZN region has leaked how 4,000 fake membership card has been made up in other to access the part’s Decembers leadership trial.

Nqaba Mkhwanazi exposed this crooked plans to the Moerane Commission with evidence yesterday that these fake membership cards are associated with ANC Youth Leagues in different subsidiary.

Seeing as KwaZulu-Natal is so divided in who it supports for the leadership,Fake membership may boost a branch’s significance come the leadership trial and have huge impact on the Part’s next president.

The fake membership cards are only an issue in Nongoma, eDumbe and Vryheid: All locality in the heart of Zululand. All ward which back Jacob Zuma in large numbers. Somewhere, somehow, corruption stories wind their way back to him.

It all comes down to those who support president Zuma, and those who oppose him. Pro-Zuma factions want to nominate his choice of successor (Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma), whereas anti-Zuma factions want to support Cyril Ramaphosa’s ANC leadership bid.

Mdumiseni Ntuli a provincial spokesperson for the ANC has assured immediate action will be taken in to preserve the integrity of the vote and to maintain the good name of the party.

“This matter has been reported to us and we have investigated the list. Corrective action is being taken and we have gone to those involved to respond to our findings.”

“The PEC has ruled that this matter must be completed within the next 30 days. This will ensure  we don’t undermine the credibility of our membership leading up to the elective conference.”

Pietermaritzburg Magistrates last week nullified the 2015 KZN election and was declared ‘unlawful and invalid’, resulting in an overturning of the result. The current ANC power struggle in the region looks set to define the leadership race.

At least electoral fraud has been detected before the event, rather than after it.
