Police in the KZN area have people from carry lots of cash, rather make a transfer if need be.
According to the Westville police, a victim was robbed while coming out from the bank yesterday the 10th of January.
Westville Police in currently investing and have issued a statement;
Westville police is investigating a case of armed robbery after the victim was robbed of cash while coming from the bank. The suspects fled the scene on foot. It is alleged that yesterday, 10 January 2017 at about 10:30 the victim went to the bank at Church road, Westville area to withdraw R42 000 cash.
When he left the bank to his vehicle, he was allegedly approached by three suspects who pointed him with firearms and took cash from him. The suspects fled the scene in their getaway vehicle. No shots were fired and no injuries sustained. We are appealing to anyone who might have information about the whereabouts of the suspects to contact any local police station or our Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa once again warned the public not to withdraw large amounts of cash. ‘Community members may use other safe transaction methods rather than to withdraw large amounts of cash. Always be aware of suspicious-looking people who might attack and rob you when you carry cash, he said.
