One young boy and a man sustained serious injuries after being stabbed and left on the side of the road to die, paramedics said on Saturday.

Rescue Care paramedics in KwaZulu-Natal were called to a stabbing incident on Joyce Road in Newlands on Friday night just after 20:30, spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said.

A boy believed to be between 13-14 years was found lying on the side of the road with serious injuries. He was treated with advanced life support and stabilised on the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital.

The cause of the stabbing was still unclear, Jamieson said. Police are investigating the case.

In a separate incident in Pretoria, Gauteng, a 44-year-old man was found along the N4 near Rossouw street in Pretoria with multiple stab wounds in a critical state.

Netcare911 paramedics were called to the scene around 19:25. The man was treated at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the stabbing was also not clear.  No arrests has been made for both cases but the police are carrying out an investigation.

The victims are yet to be identified as no papers,  passports, documents, wallet or any form of identification was found on them. It appears the perpetrators made away with what ever they had on them.
