Reports reaching Hinnews.com is that four people have been arrested following at Murder of Modderbult Farm where a family of four were brutally killed.
The suspects who have been identified as four foreign Nationals which included two Nigerians and Two Mozambicans left with the victims car, which was later tracked with help from the car tracking company and was then located somewhere in Balfour. The Police upon reaching there was welcomed with a shootout between them and the suspects.
“…The police retaliated wherein one of the suspects was shot and wounded, one arrested and some managed to abscond the scene. Inside the vehicle, police found a 9mm pistol and a laptop,” SAPS confirmed.
Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Robert Netshiunda also confirmed the incident
“…Officers spotted a vehicle which…belonged to one of the deceased. Two men were spotted getting into the vehicle and when the police introduced themselves a shootout ensued. The suspects were overpowered. One of them sustained injuries during the exchange of fire and is currently in hospital.”
Netshiundaon added: “Two Nigerians aged 20 and 30 were arrested at a nearby town for being in possession of two laptops which belonged to the victims.”
Also reacting to the incident was Hawks National Head Lieutenant General Mthandazo Ntlemeza, who said that they will do their best to find out the motive for the killing and promises to ensure justice is served;
“These are ugly scenes and perpetrators have no place in our society,” he said. “Farm attacks are one of our priorities and we will dig very deep to establish the motive of the killings and ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime receive the harshest punishment,” added Ntlemeza.
The suspects will be appearing before a judge any time soon !!!
