Many South African women including children are very scared these days. Rape and assault on them is gradually getting out of hand. More efforts needs to be made to put an end this evil act.

The government and the Police seems not to be doing enough to protect the vulnerable citizens of this country.

A five-year-old girl that was allegedly raped on Sunday, led police to her 49-year-old alleged rapist.

This is according to the South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco)

Sanco said that the girl showed incredible courage by “breaking the silence” on her alleged rape.

Breaking the silence disarms the perpetrator and shatters the mask behind which he is a threatening the most vulnerable in our society.

The girl was raped near Kapteinsklip Station in Rocklands, Mitchells Plain, Western Cape.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s court once charged.

The man was allegedly well acquainted with the victim.

Western Cape police spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana said that documents from the suspect’s pockets shows that he is from Zimbabwe with expired papers.
