Online Enteries has begun for the 2018 edition of the Cycle tour in Cape town.

The edition of the world biggest timed race is nicknamed #40take2 on social media by the tour’s organizers. It was rescheduled as a result of bad weather .

Director David Bellairs said, for those who enrolled for the 2017 cyclist tour they where given a prejudiced treatment for the 2018 race, marketing, media and sponsorship.

“Emails were sent out in batches to every rider who entered and registered for the 2017 Cape Town Cycle Tour at this year’s Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo,” Bellairs said.

“The offer of a guaranteed entry to the 2018 Cape Town Cycle Tour, at 2017 entry fee rates, had to be taken up by 4pm on 13 September. After this date and time the Preferential Entry was forfeited – those wishing to enter may still join the General Application process for entries.”

For participant who has raced 21 or more times are invited to enter from September 13th through 19th while general entries open at 1pm on September 20th.

Cyclist can can visit to enter . Successful applicant will be notify via emails between 20 to 27 of September and are given until September 27 to complete every payment that will secure their entries.

Unfortunate applicant will receive email notifications and may be invited either after supporting a charity or through the official substitution process during early 2018.

The starting point of the race will be moved  from Hertzog Boulevard to the Grand Parade.

General Entry Application fee for South African applicants is R540 and for internationals, it is R1 000.
