The Limpopo Health Department says it’s disappointed after two of its security officers and a pharmacy assistant were arrested for alleged theft of medicine worth over R1.2 million

The trio apparently stole the medication at the provincial government pharmaceutical depot in Seshego yesterday.

Among the stolen medication found are TB drugs and medication for mentally ill patients.

Health spokesperson Thabiso Teffo says the department is expecting more arrests to follow as police are continuing with the investigations.

“We are very disappointed because in a country that does not have many resources, you find people stealing this type of medication.”
