AmaZulu defender Tsepo Masilela has dismissed suggestions that negotiations took so long for him to sign because he wanted a bigger package.
“It’s tough to enlighten you guys,” he said.
“You know when they say a player wants a bigger package, what is a bigger package? Maybe if you tell them the package they will say ‘ah it’s too small or too big’ so negotiations were not like I wanted a bigger package.
“Sometimes they take long and sometimes it can be done in ten minutes, it was nothing new, but people come with stories without knowing facts.”
Usuthu are known for giving experienced players a chance with the likes of the late Shoes Moshoeu, Siyabonga Nomvethe, Mbulelo Mabizela and Mabhuti Kbenyeza ending their careers at the club.
