Some traditional rulers in South Africa are considering floating a new political party which can convey their ideals, as they rule out the idea of a woman president in the country.
Speaking during an assemblage in his palace, where a courtesy call turned out to be a political campaign visit, king Npendulo Zwelonke Sigcawu spoke ferociously against the presidential bid of a former AU Chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma
Sigcawu opined that the country was in a” mess” and therefore not in need of a woman president.
“The country is not ready for a woman president because even our democratic presidents (previous and current), all men, have not accomplished turning it around,” the royalty noted.
According to our reporter who was on a standby, the king observed that ” i’m not sure of her (NDlamini Zuma’s) capabilities for presidency. Sending her to the presidency will be just a disaster because our country is in a mess”.
However, the campaign went on nonetheless as the visit graduated into an interactive session.
