Things are not looking good for president Jacob Zuma, as conscientious citizens are not giving up on their quest to oust the commander-in-chief.  Zuma faces yet another vote of no confidence on August 8 and Speaker Baleka Mbete has to decide if the vote will be by secret or open.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane delivered to Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa’s offices in Tuynhuys, Cape Town, a petition signed by one million South Africans calling for the removal of President Jacob Zuma.

Zuma faces yet another vote of no confidence on August 8 and Speaker Baleka Mbete has to decide if the vote will be by secret or open.

The delivery of the petition formed part of a push by the DA to influence public representatives from the ruling party to vote with their conscience.

This is despite the ANC having taken a firm resolution that its public representatives won’t vote with the opposition to unseat their leader and that those who broke ranks would face the consequences.
