eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede‚ was among government officials who accompanied President Jacob Zuma to church yesterday at the Twelve Apostles’ Church in Christ (TACC) International Thanksgiving Day celebrations at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

While speaking to the crowed, she said that there are bees and cows who are fighting the President from getting milk and honey for the promised land.

“Our 1994 breakthrough was like entering the promise land of Canaan‚” she said.

“Our President‚ Tata [Nelson] Mandela led us to the promise land of Canaan‚ a land of milk and honey. President Zuma is now fighting for us to get honey and milk but the bees and cows are fighting him. They are refusing for us to share the milk and honey. They want us to sit in the promised land and die in poverty‚ unemployment and underdevelopment‚” she said to rapturous applause.

“We need to pray for him so that God may protect him from all the evil. He is being attacked by devil and the devil is using Judas Iscariot‚” she said in an inference to a biblical sell-out.

“We have to pray for our land because Satan was to use even those close to President Zuma to destroy him. We ask God to protect Zuma from the Judases and Pharisees of our time‚” she said.
