Dozens of members of the South African Cabin Crew Association (Sacca) have embarked on a protest outside Airways Park this morning, in an attempt to receive better treatment and proper benefits from South African Airways (SAA).
The association says that cabin crew members are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to salaries and believes that benefits in the airline should be spread equally.
Employees are handing over a memorandum of demands to SAA’s management today.
Sacca spokesperson Palesa Thinane-Epondo says: “They’ve tried to speak to various management structures within SAA and they’re so feeling unheard for things such as their benefits, working conditions and unfair treatment they feel they’re getting from management to stop, get focus and be dealt with once and for all.”
