It is expected the deputy president could have worked within his power to stop the criminal state capture, but at the moment, the Presidency expects Ramaphosa to dutifully  reflect on efforts to strengthen state-owned enterprises in line with the recommendations of the Presidential Review Commission on state-owned enterprises, with a view to improving governance, stabilising finances, increasing productivity and ensuring they contribute to the country’s developmental agenda.

Ramaphosa is also expected to reflect on the World Economic Forum on Africa and its impact on poverty and inequality in the country and around the continent.
