Reports reaching us has that the South African Revenue Service (Sars) customs officials have arrested a Bolivian man who was found in possession of over five kilograms of cocaine at OR Tambo International Airport.

In a statement on Tuesday, Sars said the passenger was arrested on Sunday after 5.34 kg of cocaine with an estimated value of R1 536 318, was discovered.

“The passenger was passing through OR Tambo International to Lusaka when the drugs was found in a false compartment in the bottom and sides of his checked in bag.”

The suspect was handed over to police for further investigation.
