The office of ANC Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu announced on Thursday that it will be taking SABC group executive of corporate affairs Hlaudi Motsoeneng to court over “malicious and defamatory allegations” made a few weeks ago.

The charges are related to statements Motsoeneng made during a New Age business briefing on October 27.

Motsoeneng in his statement said that Mthembu had attempted to “capture” him.

The ANC Chief Whip’s legal representatives sent a letter to Motsoeneng demanding an immediate public apology and retraction for his defamatory claims.
