Dudu Myeni, South African Airways (SAA) chairperson has told a parliamentary committee it has discovered employees on its payroll that do not exist.
Myeni has been addressing the Standing Committee on Finance on the airline’s financial position.
The national carrier’s revenue has increased by only 1% despite a significant decrease in the losses in the 2015/2016 financial year.
“It gave us great concern for the board to discover ‘ghost employees’. For instance, we’ve had employees in Malaysia where we don’t operate. So, those are areas that this board is working hard to address,” she stated.
