South Africa has been under what we can call Political tension after President Zuma reshuffled his cabinet in march. That led to the firing of Pravin Gordhan and his Deputy Mr Jonas. Many protesters took to the streets and some top ANC officials publicly criticized the president’s actions. The president later said those protests are racially motivated.
ANC MP Makhosi Khoza appears to have taken a direct swipe on Pres. Zuma regarding the president’s call for radical economic transformation and expropriation of land from white farmers.
She was a guest speaker at the Making Africa Work book launch in Durban.
She seemed to have impressed World leaders with her views against what Zuma and his followers had claimed to be struggling for.
Lady Khoza alleged there was an incorrect understanding of radical economic transformation within her party, which she said was chasing away investors.
She said that South Africa has a constitution which is promising us prosperity, and we are abusing it trying to say this one is a white monopoly capitalist and chasing away investment.
Taking another direct swipe at President Zuma, she said the country faced challenges of leadership as leaders are failing to make right decisions.
She said government should be focused on fixing the education system, the health system, crime rate, corruption and create opportunities for South Africa to prosper.
She said, ”Good leaders don’t die with power, they hand over when things are not working out, for the sake of their people instead of making excuses.
