The drugs were hidden in hair treatment bottles at a courier company outlet at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, SARS said on Sunday.
The sniffer dog identified a consignment of six bottles of “anti-frizz hair treatment.”
The drugs was coming in from Sao Paolo in Brazil, destined for Cape Town. An arrest was made but because of ongoing investigation the identity of the man cannot be revealed for now.
Tests confirmed the bottles contained liquid cocaine with a street value of R2,157,750.
The drugs were seized and handed over to the South African Police Service for further investigation, SARS said in a statement.
