On Friday, the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court has postponed the trial of two murder suspects who allegedly stabbed and boiled their cousin and a baby.
During proceedings, Prosecutor Mahlubi Ntlakaza requested that the matter be postponed to Monday.
The two men allegedly attacked and murdered two of their cousins, Lerato Letswalo, 18, Priska Movit, 23, and her six-month-old baby Bokamoso Movit, at their home in Katlehong, East of Johannesburg.
Mother of the deceased Thembi Letswalo told the court earlier that the family was perplexed about the reason for the crime and that the family has been divided due to the incident.
Nthabiseng Letswalo, 22, was the only one that survived the dreadful attack. Letswalo recalled how she laid on the floor pretending to be dead after she had been stabbed.
She also said that the minute the suspects turned their backs on her, she quickly stood up, took an iron rod close by and beat them until they took off.
She managed to inform the neighbors who caught the suspects and beat them up so badly that they were hospitalized.
The two men were remanded in custody until their court appearance on Monday.
