Christopher Panayiotou and his two murder co-accused have pleaded not guilty to all charges tabled against them.
Their trial has started in the Port Elizabeth High Court.
Panayiotou is accused of orchestrating his wife Jayde’s murder last year.
Jayde’s body was found outside Uitenhage a day after she went missing.
The public gallery of courtroom A was packed to capacity.
The slain school teacher’s parents, Derrick and Michelle Inggs, were surrounded by supporters wearing black ‘Justice for Jayde’ T-shirts.
Together with co-accused Sinethemba Nenembe and Zolani Sibeko, Christopher faces a raft of charges including conspiracy to commit murder.
The alleged trigger man, Sizwezakhe Vumazonke, fell ill and died in custody last month, but prosecutors have already indicated it will not affect the trial.
