A woman, believed to be related to fugitive self-proclaimed prophet, Shepherd Bushiri, has paid an admission of guilt fine after she was found to have been in South Africa illegally.
Esther Bushiri, believed to be Bushiri’s younger sister, appeared in the Midrand Magistrate’s Court on Thursday where she had to pay a R10 000 admission of guilt fine.
Meanwhile, it is unclear when or if Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary will return to SA to stand trial. The couple, who face charges of theft, money laundering and fraud, fled to their home country of Malawi earlier this month.
The couple’s bail and R5.5 million mansion in Centurion were forfeited to the State after they escaped.
Recent news also reported that Bushiri has also been charged for rape.
According to reports, three warrants have been authorised after women came forward with the claims.
