According to Enca reports, A South African man from Alberton has been in a Sudanese prison for over six months now without any charge.

The man has been identified as Retired Colonel William John Endley. Reports says that at the time of his abduction is was reportedly working as a security advisor to the vice President and rebel leader of South Sudan, Riek Machar.

International Relations spokesperson, Clayson Monyela said:

“We have previously successfully resolved difficult cases involving South Africa, and even in this case we are hoping given up hope that we will find a solution to this difficult  and unfortunate case.

“We share the frustration of the family, it frustrates us that we haven’t gotten a breakthrough we have now escalated this to highest office in South Sudan.”
