Many South Africans are complaining of Police inefficiency and incompetence and yet we still get to see cases where police released a serial rapist by mistake. Some are alleging that it is a perpetuated act not a mistake.

A 20-year-old suspect identified as Gift Tonko Tshehla‚ escaped from Motetema near Groblersdal‚ police said in a statement released on Friday evening.

“It is alleged that a 21-year-old man who claimed to be related to the suspect paid bail of R300 for this escapee‚ on the name of another suspect and took him away‚” police said.

“This suspect was originally arrested for a rape case which he committed during 2016 and he was later linked to five more other rape cases which he committed during 2014 where he was targeting young girls.”

Police has warned citizens to be on alert as the suspect is believed to be very dangerous.

Anyone with further information on the suspect’s whereabouts was urged to contact the police.
