The striking incident beats the imagination of the neighbours, who were confused about the dastardly act of the mindless hijackers.
KwaZulu-Natal police are on the hunt for hijackers who made off with a one-month-old baby when they hijacked a woman in the Durban CBD on Friday.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane said a mother, her baby and 8-year-old son were seated in their white Toyota Yaris when two armed men approached them at the busy Game City shopping centre.
“They demanded the car keys and fled with their vehicle and one-month-old baby inside the vehicle. A case of carjacking has been opened at Durban Central. The baby is still missing.”
Zwane said police were appealing to the public to be on the lookout for the vehicle with registration ND 576-648.
