The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) have been approached by Acting Police Commissioner Lieutenant- General Khomotso Phahlane to interdict Paul O’Sullivan as well as his staff from the team of investigators selected to investigate him.

Phahlane appealed the Directorate to disengage these individuals from partaking in any privileged information about his personal and professional life except where the court says otherwise.

In a related development, Phahlane counsel BDK Attorneys prayed the high court in pretoria on monday to issue a restraining order barring these investigators.

The allegations brought against Phahlane borders on injustice and corruption in the construction of his personal mansion and the acquisition of luxury vehicles beyond his means.

Phahlane observes in the papers thus: “O’Sullivan has unlawfully inveigled his way into what otherwise should be an independent investigation and is unlawfully pursuing a scheme of publicity-seeking,mostly for himself. He is unlawfully attaching himself to (Ipid) as if he were a member of the SAPS and a member of (Ipid).

The papers also exposed emails allegedly written by O’Sullivan to him in 2016 revealing large scale corruption by SAPS generals.

Phahlane further claimed he was given an ultimatum to do O’Sullivans bidding or face his wrath.
