There could have been  a mild drama when a garrulous buffalo pounced on Chris Griffith, the Chief Executive Officer of the biggest producer of metal in the world, Anglo American Platinum.

The Amplats boss was spotted on a wheelchair in the ongoing mining industry conference in Cape Town, tagged Mining Indaba.

The South African based company stated in an email that Chris Griffith ” had an encounter with a buffalo and sustained injuries. He is back in the office; we are all wishing him speedy recovery”.

Griffith who sits as the head of a company that is worth R94 billion, is winding down older and less-profitable operations in order to reduce cost and adjust to a platinum price that has fallen 40% in the past five years.

All effort to get the exact location of the attack has been difficult. Although private investigation is going on to ascertain the actual location of the unfortunate incident.
