It appears the widely controversial Former Eskom boss Brian Molefe can no longer condone why several sections of the country are getting too hard on him. He has however submitted that he never resigned from Eskom.
Although he and Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown have filed their response to DA’s application which seeks to have Molefe removed from the position.
Molefe was sworn in as a member of parliament after leaving his CEO’s post at the power utility.
Having been fingered in the public protector’s State of Capture report claimed his departure at the time was in the spirit of good governance.
Hence, in an about turn, Molefe now says he was actually on unpaid leave.
Molefe’s return to Eskom this month is seen as a compromise after the minister rejected a R30 million golden handshake proposal.
