A terrible incident happened today in Pretoria which ended up in a moving train being set alight.

Reports are still sketchy at the moment. Saps is conducting serious investigation to determine the full cause of the event.

Not less than fourteen train coaches were “mysteriously” set on fire after it left Wonderboom station at Pretoria.

Few coaches were disconnected, but at least six were apparently irreparable after the fire.

The fire could not be put out immediately. Extinguishing of the fire was delayed because the electrical certificate of Prasa had to be obtained first so that the electricity could be cut above the relevant railway line.

Preliminary reports suggests that commuters are responsible for this.

Few weeks ago, disgruntled commuters also caused extensive damage to coaches in the Western Cape.
