Academic and Professional Staff Association (Apsa) has accused transport minister Blade Nzimande of corruption and has threatened to lay criminal charges against him and individuals close to him.
Apsa wants the minister probed for allegations relating to his tenure when he was the Minister of Higher Education. They allege that he used his position to appoint friends, cronies and relatives to head influential entities.
We have been studying carefully the systematic corruption done by the former Minister of Higher Education Blade Nzimande.
Professor Boitumelo Senokoane, APSA general-secretary
We are not speaking corruption in the limited scope of an obvious one man to one man. We are saying there has been a deliberate systematic corruption.
Apsa says it will be approaching the of Higher Education and also go to the commission of state capture.
