A brutal multi- stabbing incident took place in Eldorado Park, Ext 1 (south of Johannesburg ) yesterday, leaving one dead and three others critically injured.
According to the spokesperson Mr Aboobaker Sayed from a community based emergency medical service in Lenasia, (Saaberie Chishty Ambulance), the youngest victim, a 4 year old child, was transported by their team to Baragwanath Hospital for medical assistance after being stabbed in the back while he was peacefully asleep.
Both, his granny and his uncle sustained serious stab wound injuries as well and were transported to a hospital by provincial ambulance services.
However, their neighbour, a 43 year old female, unfortunately succumbed to her multiple stab wound injuries on scene.
It is apparent that the 43 year old passed on from fatal gashes caused by her boyfriend. Her neighbours, in their attempt to assist, were turned on by the suspect who went into their flat next door and ruthlessly stabbed the 4 year old child, his grandmother and uncle with aggression, setting statistics of domestic violence and even stabbings on the increase.
The suspect was apprehended by community members who frustratingly beat him up before police arrived and took over custody of the man. It is alleged by onlookers that the 70 year old man had just been released from prison after facing a fifteen year sentence following up previous murder convictions.
At this stage the exact circumstances around the incident is unknown and police are busy with relevant investigations.
