Well over 300 people are currently displaced following a wild fire which occurred at the weekend  in Crossroad and Dunoon.

According Disaster Risk Management’s Charlotte Powell says

“A fire destroyed 30 dwellings in Dunoon. At this stage 145 people are displaced and our NGO partners are providing relief in the form of hot meals, blankets and food parcels. Our city’s Human Settlements Department is also providing starter kits for the residents to rebuild their dwellings.” She said

The City of Cape Town is currently doing what they can for the people as lots of shacks were burnt down.

Hinnews will continue monitoring the situation.
