A Bulgarian has been arrested earlier this morning for fraud and the illegal possession of ammunition.
SAPS members, Hawks and the Department of Home Affairs conducted a joint search operation at the residence of the man in Brackenfell. The man was identified as a person of interest.
The search warrant was issued after investigations into the suspect’s alleged organized crime activities necessitated it.
SAPS related that the search “yielded skimming devices, a cellular telephone jamming device, 10 cloned bank cards, several passports and identity documents, cash, homemade stamps from known companies, a magazine and 9mm rounds…”
While the circumstances surrounding the matter are still under investigation, the 43-year-old Bulgarian was arrested on charges of fraud and the illegal possession of ammunition.
He’s expected to appear before Bellville court on Monday 28 November 2016.
