The crash scene led to the N2 North Highway being closed for more than two hours.

City of Umhlathuze Official Zolile Phoswa said;

“The passenger ended up attacking the driver, shocking him and strangling him from behind and he lost control and ended up colliding with  a vehicle resulting to four passengers fatally wounded.”

Family members of the deceased are still in shock.

The driver’s brother Dumisani Ntuli said;

“He was a quiet person. We have never had any problem with him. We are close with his bosses, they have never reported any wrongdoing from his part. We were told he was just grabbed with no provocation by the passenger, but as time goes on we will get to the bottom of the matter.”
