The rising spate of disaster in South Africa is assuming an alarming rate, as children are usually more vulnerable to these unfortunate occurrences.

Twenty-four school children suffered various degree of injuries after a school bus driver lost control of the vehicle, trapping and injuring the children as a result.

The minibus was travelling to Mandeni on the Kwazulu-Natal north before the ill-fated accident occurred.

IPSS Medical Rescue paramedic Paul Herbst said “It rear-ended an empty taxi‚ which in turn hit another vehicle.

Injuries ranged from minor to serious”.

Herbst further narrated that a child trapped in the front of the minibus carrying the children had to be carefully removed from the vehicle. She had been seriously hurt.
