George Lebese (born 3 February 1989) is a South African international footballer who plays professionally for Mamelodi Sundowns, as a left winger.

Born in Mamelodi, Lebese spent his early career with Jusben, Khona Lapho and Arcadia Shepherds.

Lebese joined Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the 2008–09 season.

He received his first call-up to the South African national team in November 2011, making his international debut against Ivory Coast on 11 November 2011.

The 28-year-ago‚ has become Sundowns’ second biggest signing of the off-season after Oupa Manyisa from Orlando Pirates.

After leaving Kaizer Chiefs, the wild player has made some shocking revelations about the Amakhosi head coach Steve Komphela.

Lebese while granting the media an interview after Mamelodi Sundowns announced his signing said that ”Sex after midnight is off limits for Kaizer Chiefs players under manager Steve Komphela.”

Lebese revealed the strict rule was designed to curb muscle injuries.

”Players are allowed to stay at home the night before matches but have been told they must not have sex once the clock strikes 12,” said Lebese.

”Relations must be before midnight, even if you have a free day the following day. It’s so you can have a good night’s sleep.

”Komphela told us this is how he got the best out of Players, and for them to avoid the maximum number of muscular injuries.

‘Komphela will not bully you but he will do everything to make you progress. He is a picky person,” said the winger.

”Komphela also tried to cut WiFi in areas of Chiefs’ training base to foster team harmony and introduced group meal times but senior players kicked against it.

”He ordered players to refrain from having sex after midnight. The rule was imposed even if the team did not have a game the next day.

”He wants his players to be slim and fit,” said Lebese.

Famed for his professional, hard nosed managerial approach to the game, Steve Komphela’s footballing philosophy is the stuff of legend.

But George Lebese has offered a bizarre new insight into one of Komphela’s lesser known policies.

“With Komphela, on the first day of training, you know how you should play, how to squeeze and also how to stand off the ball,” he said. “The next day, you have videos for everything that you have to do.

“He will not bully you, but he will do everything to make you progress, to get you to know how to position yourself and how to play,” concluded the winger.
