There was a wild jubilation today in South Africa by some tertiary institution students after the Constitutional court without any further hesitation, passed a verdict granting the courageous Fees Must Fall activist Bonginkosi Khanyile, bail after series of court sessions on the matter.

Khanyile who was jailed for almost six months, was granted bail in the Constitutional Court on Wednesday.

Khanyile was granted R250 bail.

The court read out the ruling drawn up by the State and the defence.

Prosecutor Andy Bester said Khanyile can be given bail on the condition that he does not intimidate staff or obstruct police or any personnel.

The Durban University of Technology student went to the Constitutional Court to challenge the decisions by two lower courts to deny him bail.
